Submission Categories
The contest will be running with three main categories:
- Combat: Create UGC Mod modes focused on player-vs-player action, where combat skill, weapon proficiency, and competition are at the core. This can include experiences such as team deathmatch, gun game, sniper battles, aim challenges, 1v1 arenas, or other UGC Mod experiences built around gunplay and tactical engagements. On the PUBG: Playgrounds, Combat is a main tag (Tab), with representative sub-tags including TDM, Gun Game, Sniper, Aim Challenge, and 1v1.
- Survival: Build UGC Mod modes centered around surviving against NPC enemies or environmental challenges. This can include wave defense, PvE missions, co-op defense, objective-based encounters, or other UGC Mod experiences where players must work together, hold out, protect an area, or complete PvE goals. On the PUBG: Playgrounds, Survival is a main tag (Tab), with representative sub-tags including Wave Defense, PvE Mission, Co-op Defense, and Objective-based PvE.
- Creative: Design non-combat or low-combat UGC Mod modes where movement, rules, objectives, and creative gameplay matter more than gunplay. This can include parkour, racing, party modes, puzzles, sandbox experiences, or other minigame-style UGC creations that offer a different way to play PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. On the PUBG: Playgrounds, Creative is a main tag (Tab), with representative sub-tags including Parkour, Racing, Party, Puzzle, and Sandbox.
Categories mode to the PUBG: Playgrounds main-tag / sub-tag structure, and each Category is registered as a Tab on the PUBG: Playgrounds. Authors are encouraged to submit entries spanning a variety of tags. Winning entries listed on the PUBG: Playgrounds will appear under a contest-specific tag (see “Winners and Prizes” below).
Winners and Prizes
The contest consists of Grand Prizes, Mid-Contest Rewards, and Community Favorites. All prizes and rewards are based on skill. CurseForge, KRAFTON Inc., and the community will judge and select the winning UGC Mod modes.
Grand Prize Winners
Each of the three categories includes the following prizes:
- First Place - $10,000
- Second Place - $5,000
- Third Place - $3,000
- 4th - 10th Place - $1,000
Selected winning entries may be surfaced on the PUBG: Playgrounds as user-generated content on a rolling (sequential) basis between October and December 2026, under a contest-specific tag. Listing, placement, and removal on the PUBG: Playgrounds are operated and controlled solely by KRAFTON Inc., subject to a minimum one-month retention period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, KRAFTON Inc. may remove any listed entry earlier if required for legal, policy, technical, safety, operational, platform integrity, or other reasonable business reasons. Selected winning entries will remain creator-made UGC Mod mode. There is no function to pin a first-place entry to the front of the PUBG: Playgrounds; award information may instead be shown as text in the entry description and/or indicated by a placement mark (for example, a “1st Place” thumbnail mark). Only selected winning entries will be listed on the PUBG: Playgrounds; non-selected entries are not uploaded to the PUBG: Playgrounds and remain playable via Custom Match only. See Section 8 of the Official Contest Rules below. “Mod” has the meaning given in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ Mods Policy, and submitting a Mod to this contest grants the licenses described there, in addition to those in the Official Contest Rules.
Mid-Contest Rewards

- Fun Factor - Evaluates whether the submitted UGC Mod creation is fun, engaging, easy to understand, and has replay value (35%)
- Completeness - Evaluates whether the submission works as a complete mode when actually played. Judges will review whether it has a clear start, progression, and ending structure, whether the objectives/rules/win conditions work properly, and whether the play flow is stable without major blockers or confusion (35%)
- Originality - Evaluates whether the submission has a fresh concept or distinctive idea, and whether it avoids duplicating or closely imitating existing maps, modes, games, or third-party works (15%)
- Community Evaluation - Evaluates user-side engagement and response based on valid CurseForge downloads and valid community votes. Automated, manipulated, duplicated, or otherwise invalid downloads or votes may be excluded (15%)
Judging Schedule. Following the end of the Contest Period, CurseForge will share the shortlisted Entries with PUBG Studios’s development team for evaluation on or around September 6th, 2026, and PUBG Studio’s evaluation and feedback will be provided on or around September 10th, 2026. Community Favorites will be determined based on valid community votes only. At the end of the voting, the Sponsor will determine the Entries with the highest number of valid community votes. Those Entries will be placed based on valid votes and will receive the appropriate prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right to exclude any votes that appear to be fraudulent, automated (including bots), manipulated, or otherwise invalid or in violation of the Contest Rules. Any attempt to manipulate the vote may result in disqualification of the Entry and/or participant.
In the event of a tie, the Sponsor may consider factors such as valid download numbers and engagement or conduct a final judging round to break the tie at its sole discretion.
6.3. Mid-Contest Rewards.
Mid-Contest Rewards will be selected from valid, approved Entries based on early submission quality, originality, completeness, and playability, as determined by the Sponsor in its discretion.

Winners will be required to provide any necessary information to process prize payments, including payment and tax details, where applicable. If a winner does not respond within a reasonable timeframe, fails to provide the requested information, is found in violation of these Rules, or if prize fulfillment would violate applicable laws, sanctions, tax, payment, or compliance requirements, the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select an alternate.
Prizes may be paid through the CurseForge Authors Rewards Program, direct payment, or any other payment method designated by Sponsor. Any prize paid through the CurseForge Authors Rewards Program will be subject to the applicable terms and requirements of that program.
Where required under applicable laws, each Winner shall be solely responsible for all federal, state, and/or local taxes, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other fees or costs associated with the Prize or any applicable prize.
